sony KDL 40S2010

Hi I have a sony bravia KDL 40S2010 and I cannot connect the hdmi cable from my skyhd box as it says " hdcp resolution not supported" so I play it through the componemt wires, I had the sky engineers out and they say there is nothing they can do as it the tv and they suggest getting a software patch can this be done by connecting the tv to a computer and downloading it, or is the engineer talking rubbish. Noboby wants to thake responsibilty for this problem sony or sky now I am paying for hd to sky and not getting hd quality can someone help!!!!!

I take it your SkyBox is outputing 720p or 1080i as the 40S2010 does not support 1080p according to the manual.

Hi my skyhd box plays my ps3 and xbox in hd no problem and when I bought the tv back in 2006 it was working on hd and then in 2009 sky upgraded their boxes and no hd signal  through the hdmi cable I have been using the three wires to get some sort of hd picture, and because I can get the ps3 and xbox to work on the hdmi cable sony tells me its not the tv its the sky box but when I connect the skyhd box to my other hd tv it works help
