Sony KDL**HX923

Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

this was originally posted on another forum and the poster stated that this is reported by german customers and uk ones, however i have been waiting months for my pre order and dont have it yet!!

i am afriad i am now very sceptical that anyone has a perfect one despite their claims. i think those with perfect ones probably arent looking closely enough (no offence anyone reading this who thinks theirs is perfect).....yes i agree if you have to look THAT closely maybe we are all being too fussy? but then the counter arguement is always, fussy having spent nearly 3K on the TV....i'm entitled to be :slight_smile:

nothing the dealer or sony are saying implies there are any perfect ones out there....i still have the option of a replacement but like you i'm not sure it would be any better...maybe i need to try it but Lee@ Sony gave an honest appraisal of what he considered to be a good sample of the ones they are sending out and even he said he could see the fault (if he looked for it) whilst testing a set at home.

ps: yes. I am aware of the fact it sounds a lot like i'm talking myself into sending this TV back :slight_frown:

Reading for a few days now and there will be no crease free sets,they will have it all.

I'm from Holland and had a few days ago the 55HX920 with nice stripes:smileysad:

First i had the Samsung 55D8000 but that,s a clouding machine:smileysilly:

I had an refund because i lost my trust,saw on the back of the new Sony that some scratches near a screw where mask with an black pencil:smileyshocked: nice quality check Sony....NOT. It is a flagship like the Titanic :laughing:

It,s a shame because it,s really a nice design with great picture but not worth its money.

I do not think my English grammatik is okidoki..Sorry

i'd sit tight a bit longer, think Sony are breaking a sweat on this, i think the Adhesive is in the wrong place and whether they admit it is something else, its definately a manufacturing defect, i mean is it on the other Sony's?, has anyone had a look yet?

Today i looked at the HX820 (same type of glass i think)  saw the same stripes but a little harder to find.

Ooops!!, thats saying something then, perhaps the designers got that bit with the Adhesive wrong!

Can you do us a favour if you look at the tv on the left side about 20cm down can you see a slight shadow coming around 10cm into the screen like a horizontal line? (more like a coloured shadow it's hard to explain but  is there on mine.

Hi all i recived my replacement 46hx923 yesterday and guess what:smileyshocked: its worse than the old set. The replacement has a date of june 2011 and this was direct from sony!

The wait conintues.

erm......... at risk of sounding a complete plonk i have looked hard and can see nothing of that nature, how bad is it? how long etc etc.

Hi there,

welcome, your first post and your on a replacement already!!, not a good start is it and im amazed after what i said before about Sony not risking sending out further sets with this trait, unbelievable!!, and i am sorry to hear its worst than the first one, i think this will play on a lot of us expecting a faultless set.

i should also point out that when this issue came about (june) they stopped selling all these tv because of this crease issue pending investigation so why are they re issueing sets with this known problem even im confused now!
