KDL37EX403U. This model has no power saving switch, either it is on or on standby. Have always been advised that standby uses more power. Seems a hassle to switch off at mains every time when closing down. Any thoughts on this?
Yes traditionally, products left in standby still used to consume a fair amount of power. However the EX403 only uses 0.2w in this mode, which is negligable.
Thats what I do. You could probably even work out how much 0.2w would cost you over the course of a year if you know how much you pay for your electricity.
