I cannot currently record HD channels on the HDD, and think that all our machines may not connected in the best way. We have a Bravia ADL32EX TV, a KS1100 audio system, an HXD870 DVD recorder and a sky+ box. We can watch the HD channels via the built in digital tuner in the TV, but cannot record them as the DVD player seems unable to connect to any digital channels, only the sky+. Can anyone suggest the optimum wiring plan to connect all this lot together please?

I don't think that the HXD870 has a Freeview HD tuner so it will not see the channels.

Well, first important is video recording format and it is MPEG2 and MPEG1 that You can record with recorder. Chack format content on set top box.
Connection is described on page on page 22 for audio system or connecting to external decoder on page 33 instruction manual link, plus connect audio system to TV, mybe scart, but connect RDR with audio system KS1100 with some audio cable like coaxial, too. RF cable from RDR to TV. Chose audio system as source in TV like manu-settings-sound-speakers-audio system.
manu-initall set up..set timer, hdd,title list...
