Internet conectivity but any browser cannot load any page

Hi!

I've got a problem with loading pages. I have internet conectivity (I see it in the task manager and my provider told me that the connection is perfect) but when I tried to surf any page it never loads. In the tap I see 'wating for ....com ie) I tried everything: reset the wifi router, try to reset winsock, change the DNS settings from automatic to manual. I talked with my internet provider to try to solved it but we did get to nowhere.

Any ideas what to do?

Hi danotli,

What Vaio model do you have?

There have been reported problems with models that came pre installed with McAfee and the user has then installed another security suite without first completely removing mcAfee.

If is the case you will need to run the McAfee removal tool.

Thanks for the reply!

My model is SVE 1112M1EW and it comes with pre-intalled Windows 8 and McAfee.

I didn't installed a new suite. Actually I didn't make any changes that could cause this problem. Just one morning when I run IE the pages never loaded. Anyway I contact with VAIO support services and they recommend me to refresh windows and if this doesn't work to re-install it. So after I refreshed it I was able to connect again but unfortunatelly after the first time I restart it IE (and any of the browsers I installed) was unable to load. I found that the windows updates may be causing this problem when i start to uninstall some of them, that was installed before the restart. And I found that after I unistalled one of them and restart and everything was fine. But not for long. the next day the problem still exist so I re-installed the OS. Now when I'm writing that Í use the VAIO but I forbid automatic windows updates. I know that I shouldn't but I'm afraid that something would go wrong again. But I'll completely remove McAfee as it's described in the link you gave me and turn on the automatic updates to see what's gonna happen and write again if this resolve it.

Thanks again!
