My laptop doesn't exist according to Sony Support.

Hello,

I bought this laptop from the Sony Outlet store back in late 2010.

It is a sony vaio CW series with the model number: VPCCW2C5E (yes this is 100% correct)

According to support- this has never existed. I've never been able to find it and I've always found myself installing drivers etc. from third party websites since sony just can't find my laptop.

Now I've gotten to the stage of wanting to install my own SSD. However AHCI doesn't seem to exist in my BIOS. I've seen you can install a AHCI driver- however not if my laptop doesn't exist.

Really rather ridiculous- I've already had this laptop sent back and forth about 3 times when I first bought it due to poor drivers on sonys behalf and a broken GPU.

Any help?

Thanks,

Androidman

Hi androidman and welcome.

The support website section with drivers for your Vaio seems to be in the normal place here: -

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/vpccw2c5e

You will find all the available drivers and other software under the 'Downloads' Tab.

There is a SATA Driver in the Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities section and during installation, you should be able to choose the AHCI driver version.
