Problem with fan in laptop

I have a Sony Vaio VPCEB4E1E series laptop, just recently I noticed the fan was making more noise than usual, can anyone suggest any reason this is happening?

Hi Rich,

Is the fan visible at all from outside the case? It may just be dusty and need a good clean of the fan blades.
