Hello all!!
I have a sony vaio vgn-fe21m laptop. My cpu temperature is 59-50 celcius.
A few months ago a friend of mine(we don't talk now) changed some settings from windows (not third party application) so the fan will be more quiter. Now I want to control the fan and set it to full speed in order to lower my cpu's temperature a bit more.I don't mind about the noise of the fan.
I remember he did it from windows 7 setting a value. I checked power options in control panel and it is in active mode wich I think means full fan power.
Is it possible to run the fun at high speed all the time or when I want( summer days etc) ?
Thank you

Speed fan reports 2 fans. One running at 2100 rpm and another at 0rpm.
Hi manosspan,
The only thing I can think of is that your friend has altered the thermal control strategy.
Open Vaio Control Center > Power Management > Power Options and experiment with the three settings – ‘Performance’ is probably what you need.
Some models also have CPU fan control available – not sure about this model though. Have a look at this link for more detail.

No cpu fan control.
At 50 celcius fan runs at 2000rpm.When I play a movie goes up to 65 celcius and fan runs at 2800 but it can't cool down my laptop.
The temperatures you report are within normal range for a notebook.
You could try cleaning the cooling vents with canned compressed air to see whether that reduces temperature by a tad.
