Hi
I have a vaio fz38m which has a Nvidia Geforce 8400m gt. It orignally came with vista home premium but i had to install win 7 after my laptop packed up and didnt even allow me to use the recovery option. Now i have 10 thick blue lines running through my screen running down vertically but it mostly shows on dark backgrounds. whenever I download drivers for my graphic card my laptop does not boot up. what is the solution. currently when i go on device manager under display manager it has 'standar vga graphic adaptor. and under monitor it has 'generic non pnp monitor'
ps I have windows 7 enterpise 32bit
Thanks
Hi adamslondon,
You need to install a nVidia driver but Sony do not provide a driver for Windows 7. Have a look at this question from a few days ago: -

However, there is a known problem with the nVidia chips on your model and this could be the actual cause of your problems: -
