Bought my first Sony Vaio last week...
A VGN-C2Z/B with Vista Home Ultimate.
Opened the box when I got home
Took about half an hour to set it all up and connect to my wireless connection.

I have to say it is nothing short of excellent.. I love it..

It is easy - all working perfectly - and a joy to use..

Do you find the screen bright enough on the C2Z/B, I'm just getting used to it, but I don't think it's as bright as my old N11S/W??

hello,

i bought my first vaio notebook before 2 weeks (vgn-c2z/b). it's a great notebook, but i'm a little bit dissapointed about the battery liftime. my max battery lifetime is only about 110 minutes (vista, power plan: vaio optimized). is it normal?!

I too have noticed a short battery life but have managed to extend it by turning off power hungry Vista gadgets and reducing the brightness of the screen

Thanks for your answer.

I turned off everything which is power hungry and reduced the brightness of the screen to its lowest value. Now the maximum battery lifetime is about 120 minutes (10 minutes more than before). That's not a huge value I think and a little bit dissapointed.

But I have another short question about my new C2Z. Before I bought the Vaio 2 weeks ago, I had an Acer Notebook (Travelmate). With this Notebook I could see the battery lifetime in minutes next to the percent value (for example in the SysTray of Windows XP).
Is it right that the Vaio Notebooks can only show a percent value of the battery and not the lifetime in minutes?!

Hi there, and welcome to the club. Don't know about your machine but my T2XP shows both percentage plus hours.minutes.

Edit: Just tested the A317S that I usually keep plugged in all the time. When on battery it shows both as well.

battery life is very poor , because u have to remember this totally different then the other c1 or c2 vaio..because it have a nvidia go 7400 vga with 256 vga compare the others got 128, i dont like window vista , it slower than xp mce and requries more ram and more power and vista does not support some of the built in aplication that was on c1z/b
