Hi jordanius,

You could try installing the original Windows 7 driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode:

Right-click on the driver and click on properties.

Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 7 operating system from the drop down.

Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

OR

Try installing the Windows 8 driver direct from Renesas.

Hi jordanius,

I assume you carried out a clean install of Windows 8? This is not supported and only a migration will work. I have no practical experience of this but suggest you read this ‘sticky’ for more information.

This model has only limited support for upgrading to Win 8 and the drivers provided on the Support site are upgrades requiring most of the original Win 7 drivers to be in place. To successfully upgrade/migrate the original Win 7 OS will need to be in place.
