Can't get a working image with an Nvidia 3000/4000 + Bravia TV (faulty Sony HDMI 2.1 EDID)

I have just bought a X95K (this applies to most Sony HDMI 2.1 capable TVs)

Trying to get a working image with a new Sony TV + Nvidia RTX 3000/4000 card is basically impossible. What you get is a frozen garbled, often green and pink image. You can only get a working image when using the 3 or 4 HDMI 2.1 port when set to VRR (the 1 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports doesn't have VRR so the are COMPLETELY useless). The reason this is happening seems to be Nvidia's stricter adherence to the EDID rules after the RTX 512.95 driver and something with being wrong with Sony's EDID implementation.

Because of this you are locked into VRR Game mode and on my X95K I can't change mode to Cinema to use Motionflow or use the HDMI input set to Enhance to be able to game at 120fps with BFI (Clearness) as it doesn't work when using the VRR input.

The TV is virtually useless as a Media Gaming HTPC when hooking it up with the newer Nvidia cards.

This seems to affect most recent HDMI 2.1 capable Bravia sets as is evident in a couple of threads on AVSForum, especially the X90J thead.

The solution I've found are to either stick with the old 512.95 driver and 3090 as this works as expected, never buy another Nvidia card as they can't use the older driver like my 4080 or or return my X95K and not buy another Sony.

The other solution, which is NOT HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE is to output via Displayport and a usa a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 dongle, but then the Nvidia panel doesn't recognize the TV as HDMI Forum VRR capable, so it's impossible to game with VRR enabled through the DP->HDMI solution and you are basically forced to manually switch the HDMI cable from the dongle to the HDMI port whenever you want to use VRR and then you have to change it back to the DP dongle when you want to use other display modes for watching movies etc. Also the Video Range Full/Limited isn't detected automatically by the TV and defaults to Limited and you have to manually set it on the TV to match.

So while you can get an image on port 3 and 4 only in VRR. This is surely not what Sony or anyone else want as we can't use any of TV's other modes and features. Not everyone just watches TV through the internal apps or games on consoles. Please make the PC + Nvidia + Bravia work as intended.
