I am sorry to hear about your issue @bigkitten. Slightly_frowning_Face

Always charge your device to at least 50% before performing a software update. A start-up procedure after a software update might take up to 30 minutes, and could include a few restarts. Do not manually restart your device during the start-up. If the device was not sufficiently charged, or if the USB cable was disconnected before finishing a software update, you might experience that the software update was not successfully completed, and that the device keeps restarting.

To stop the device from restarting, try these steps one after the other. Check whether the problem was solved after each step, before trying the next one.
  • If the start-up hasn't finished after 30 minutes, force the device to shut down (Press and hold down the power key and the volume up key at the same time for 10 seconds).
  • Turn the device back on.
  • If your device keeps restarting numerous times, for example, when the Sony Xperia logo is displayed, force the device to shut down.
  • Perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Before performing a software repair, make sure you know your Google credentials. Depending on your security settings, you may need to enter them in order to start up the device after a software repair Note! Try to back up all personal data before performing a software repair. All data in the internal memory is overwritten during a software repair. Content on an external SD card is kept.
  • Contact your retailer or Local support team. Note! Before handing the phone over for service, back up all your data to avoid possible data loss. Data on the device may get deleted when examined. Don't forget to bring proper documentation, for example, proof of purchase and warranty card. The documentation required may vary depending on market, country or region. If possible, deactivate Protection by my Xperia and remove the Google accounts on your device before sending it in for service or repair to prevent Protection by my Xperia or Google Device Protection from locking your device.

it is just a security update.. not else... everything is same... not solved the previous issues... sony is still avoiding... Y.. i don't know.. but the only major problem regarding lagging call log is still same... even after 7.1.1...

i always wait for an update to solve this.. but nothing happened...

Battery drain is another issue that is yet to be fixed Slightly_frowning_Face I hate to see phone idle taking 20-25 % of my battery everytime.

Unfortunately my Xperia x did this update last week and was stuck in a reboot loop. Still under warranty so returned for a fix. Automatic updates are trying to reinstall but I'm ignoring it!

After the update, i'm having problems with the connection via bluetooth: when I'm listening music in a headphone or in the car, the sound is intermittent. I also can not connect to the chromecast anymore. (Xperia X f5122)
