Apps unresponsive after update

Since updating my software about 2 months ago on my Sony xperia x performance, I am finding apps are becoming unresponsive (google app and Facebook are two that continue to shut down) and some apps that used to work before the update no longer work.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled all but still issues.
Any suggestions would be great

Hi @Maddiekay87, welcome to the community.

You can try resetting the apps by going to Settings > Apps > Tap the problem app > Force Stop > Storage > Clear Data, then restart your phone.

Failing that, try a software repair using Xperia Companion.

I am pretty sure that doesn't help at all in my current usage pattern,

3GB is a joke, and now I am holding it.
