Backup of Xperia X Compact via Companion and Backup & Restore fails

Hi all,

I tried creating a backup of my Xperia X Compact (Android 7.1.1, not rooted) via the Xperia backup & restore function as well as the Companion Windows software. In both cases, the backup fails. I'm especially interested in the backup of my app data, which doesn't seem to be possible with the Windows Companion software anyway

Xperia backup & restore: works partly, except:

Wifi networks - "backup not possible"

Apps - "backup not possible"

Tried it for SD-card and Online account (I don't have a USB Host adapter), same result.

Companion via USB - doesn't work at all, even if don't select "other" as described in other posts.

Restarting the phone doesn't help in both cases.

Does anyone have the same problem or an idea, how I can create a complete backup without the need to root my phone? (Helium doesn't seem to work as well).

Finally... figured it out myself, FYI:

I had set a desktop backup password (developper options), which seems to prevent the Xperia backup-tools from doing their job. Removed the password - working 🙂
