Block Spam Calls & Messages

Is there a way to block spam calls and especially text messages in Xperia X without having to use third party app? I've tried looking but I can't find that feature.

I don't know about SMS but you can redirect call to voicemail without answering it, contacts>contact name>edit>tap on all call to voicemail.

Actually you can block numbers by long press on the number and selecting block number

I actually read it from some article found in google before asking forum, but the workaround mentioned is not working for me, I cannot add operator number to all call to voice mail because the option for it doesn't appear for some reason (other numbers is fine though). Also some spammer doesn't have number but only ID.

It also doesn't help with text message spam because most of them came from ID without number (directly from carrier) or random number with specific keywords.

I don't like third party apps because the less app installed means less lag, less battery drain, less background running apps and less ads. But if native app itself doesn't have the feature I need, then I guess I don't have choice but to use third party apps.

I hope Sony will add some sort of spam control features to its call and text messaging app in the future. Because it became primary needed feature nowadays to block ads and fraud text. For example, I receive at least 3 ads messages from my carrier, some useless usage notification and a few fraud messages everyday from random number and its annoying! Especially if the phone used for work and every messages must be read because its a possible bussines chance

you will need a third party app or you can contact your network carrier.

Welcome to the community.

Android 7 Nougat has a blocking function by default. Do you know what version of Android you are running? You can find out under Settings > About Phone.

I have a question. I want to block unknown calls that they can't phone me. Can I find it anywhere in the settings? Or is there an app that can help me?
