Hi All,
I have tried to clean up some space on my SD card and internal storage but I noticed the the phone does not allow me to delete anything. I tried several apps, deleted from the Music app, tried to connect my phone to my PC and delete from windows explorer, but nothing helps. I always got an error like "file could not be deleted" or "The device is not reacting or was disconnected from the PC". But at the same time I can use all my music, see all the photos and watch videos, but can not delete absolutely anything. That just does not make any sense to me.
Can somebody please help, I urgently need space. Please no suggestions like wipe everything or reset your phone. Thanks!
Hi,
I had the same problem. I removed the SD card from my phone and put it into my computer. I still couldn't delete files using Windows Explorer.
So I copied all the files across to my PC's Hard drive and tried to format the SD card. It failed to format.
From reading up on it, it appears that an SD card will go into this 'no delete' mode to prevent loss of data when the card is failing and there are no spare data blocks to fall back on (or words to that effect).
I ended up buying myself a bigger SD card and then copying everything back from my PC. Everything is back to normal now with the advantage of my phone having even more storage space.
This may of course not be the cause of your problem but it does sound very similar.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
The problem is, that even when I remove my SD card, the phone still does not allow me to delete anything from the internal storage?!
Yes, it must be something different as my Internal Storage had no issues.
Hopefully it's easily solved. Good luck!

Install the Xperia Companion program on your computer. Connect the smartphone with a cable to the computer. Select "Transfer files" on the phone. In the program, select the "View Files on XPeria". Next, select and delete files.
