After my waterproof xperia Z3 compact was swapped for the non-waterproof X compact (some upgrade ...), I've found that I've not received a single update, my phone is still stuck at 34.1.A.1.198.
This means that my phone has not gotten (security) updates for over a year.
I've attempted to contact support for a number of times during the last year, only to get answers such as "that is indeed strange" or no answer at all.
After looking a bit more into it, it appears the reason for this problem is that the phone has a 1305-9054 R2B customization, which I believe was not meant for consumers, and therefore it is not maintained.
I would like to know if there is a fix for this problem, as i'm rather unhappy about using a completely vulnerable phone, and I'd rather not have to unlock my bootloader.
I would like to get a 1305-7676 customization, which seems appropriate for my region, and appears to be receiving updates.
As you stated, this software should not be used by consumers, so whoever gave you this phone as an "upgrade", you should contact them and question why they gave you this one. I'm telling you this because you can still flash another firmware on it, but maybe the hardware is not suited for consumers also.
