Contents within SD card cannot be loaded or read after Xperia Companion repair

Hi, I am a new Xperia X performance owner.  Recently I have used Xperia Companion to repair my phone as instructed by the support.  After the process, I found the phone was not able to load the photos that I have been saved in the SD card before the repair.  The file names and file size weren't changed but the photos seemed to be in a wrong format.  I have tried to load the photos from the SD in my PC but in vain.  The SD card is in good condition as the photos that I have taken AFTER the repair were saved perfectly in the same location.  Even the text or other application data files that I have stored in the SD card were unreadable or no longer recognizable by the Apps. How can I recover those files?  Thank you.

Bad news incoming: if you encrypted your SD card and did not decrypt it BEFORE performing your repair, this means those data on SD card are now encrypted forever and there's no way to decrypt it back.

Are your SD card contents readable when plugged into a card reader on your PC/Mac? If yes, use the PC/Mac to move everything out, format the SD card, then move your stuff back.

If you can't access the content on your PC, then did you by any chance encrypt the content of your SD card before repairing with Xperia Companion?

Wow, thanks for the prompt response.

I have no luck when I tried to read those files through PC.

I think I might have turned on the encryption feature on SD card.  If this was the case, do I have to turn on the encryption feature again after the repair in order to access those files again?

@Quester

Hmm, guess I have to re-format the SD card then.

Thanks for the replies.
