Fingerprint sensor not in settings

My fingerprint sensor has disappeared from my Sony X device settings. Totally vanished and am stunned to find that hardware can just get lost without a trace.

 Anybody got an ideas? Cheers

Hi @Piglit,

I'm sorry to hear this. I recommend that you try and reboot your device to safe mode to see if this is caused by one of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

If the same behavior persists I would recommend that you do a software repair using Xperia Companion to see if anything software related is causing this behavior in your phone.

If you still can't access the fingerprint settings in your device this is most likely caused by the hardware in your device and I'd recommend that you have your device sent in to an authorized service center for repair. You can get in contact with your Local support for assistance with how to have your device sent in for repair.

Let me know how it goes!

Hey Piglit what fixed it?  The repair I'm hoping?  My X Performance also has suddenly lost the setting. I booted into safe mode still no setting so now I'm resigned to do the update.

Oh dear. My X had to go back to Sony via o2.

I was told my contract X was irreparable and another was sent.

That in fact was someone else's device as it's a refurbished unit which in fact was totally knackered.

I sent it directly to Sony in Ashford who replaced the motherboard which now shows on my Sony A/C as a Z3.

This mobile lark is a scam. I'll never buy Sony and am at present, in contact with trading standards as my original X is a contract handset and now I am with a handset with a 2nd different imei number and snapdragon hardware from a model of 3yrs ago!!!!

If you want to lose your unit mate send it or just buy a different phone is my advice, but I think all comms companies are doing the recycle and refurb scam. Total disgrace! Good luck and sorry it's not a good story.

@NetBoySteve1if there is no difference safe mode, I recommend that you perform software repair using Xperia Companion. Let me know if there is any change after doing so.

@PiglitI'm very sorry to hear this and I fully understand your disappointed. I would recommend that you raise this with your Local support team, as this is an international forum they are better equipped to assist you with this.
