Headphones not being recognised

So in the last couple of days, my Xperia X has suddenly started being picky about the headphones I use in it. I usually use it via an auxiliary cable in the car to listen to music and use sat nav and on Tuesday morning, it would only play through the phone speakers. I switched it off, plugged in the headphones, powered up again and it was fine. Since then though, every time I plug in the headphones or aux cable without switching off first, it won't recognise them and continues to play through the phone speakers. I downloaded smart connect, which doesn't seem to have made a difference. I've also tried someone elses headphones and these are fine. Any ideas on how to solve this? I also keep getting a message saying crash monitor has failed. Could this be related?

Hi @Lins1, welcome to the community.

I am sorry to hear about this issue.

Can you please check the headphone jack for any debris that may be in there, this can cause issues with the connection. If there's something in there, blowing it out with a can of compressed air will usually do the trick.

If you still need help please let me know.
