I bought my Xperia in June 2016, given my happiness with the phone as well as the frailty of the electronic devices of our times, I'd like to extend my warranty, how could I do that for a phone bought in Belgium (fnac)?

I think opportunity depents your sellers. In different market i think is different situation. For example in my country is this opportunity to extend warranty, if say true seller always offer that. But it can be, that in others countries or market don't extending warranty. So you should ask your seller if they have this opportunity

What @Unregistered user has advised is correct different countries have different laws along with warranty and policies.
You are best to go back to the place of purchase to see if they provide such a function, as Sony Mobile does not supply this type of service.
