Language on number keyboard in Phone app

Hello

I've been using Sony Xperia M for a long time and "Phone" application had a function of searching in contacts by texting numbers with appropriate letters. Application shows contacts that match letters and takes in account relevance of contact. That was very useful.

In my new Xperia X this function is useless because keyboard contains only English letters. I need Russian keyboard and haven't found yet how to change language. Is it bug of new firmware? 

I am very upset to find this search only in English. Please give an advice how to change language.

Hi @Player1,

What language do you have configured on your smartphone (Settings-->System-->Languages & input-->Languages)?

Regarding the "Smart Dial" feature, it's not a part of the Sony's firmware (software) anymore... I had a discussion with another user just the other day, regarding this same issue. If you really need the "Smart Dial" feature, you will need to find an alternate dialer in the Google Play Store.

Thank you for answer. Configured language is one and it's Russian.

I've read the topic you mentioned, but i think it's a bit another case. 

I have both russian and english contacts in my book and, for example, if i type numbers, application shows me search by those english letters that contained on appropriate numbers. So, this search works the way i want, but works only in english. Maybe the problem is startup setting of phone (maybe system region etc.).

How can i fix this problem? Or can i report a bug somewhere in order to get this issue fixed in the next updates? 

This functionallity is necessary for me, because i need to search by contact's name very and very often. And this search must be relevant, like it was in my Sony Xperia M.

Do you mean to say @Player1, that you want your smartphone to search English-language and Russian-language contacts at the same time?

I don't think that's possible with the default dialer... My understanding is that it will search just one language - based on whatever your smartphone and keyboard are set to.

I'll need to take your word for it if this worked previously, because I speak just two languages - English and Bad English... That was a joke.

In all seriousness though, it looks like Sony have made some changes to the dialer lately, so finding an alternative in the Google Play Store might be your only option...

@gregoryopera no, i want it to search only in Russian, but keyboard (with numbers, look my screenshot) allows only in English while phone language settings are set to Russian. 

Alternative dialers are not the solution for me.

Can you change the keyboard language, @Player1?

Settings-->System-->Languages & input-->Keyboard and input methods-->On-screen keyboard-->SwiftKey Keyboard (or whatever keyboard you are using)-->language settings

The keyboard and the smartphone can both have different settings, so check your keyboard language settings above and see if this solves your problem...

@gregoryopera, thank you for advice. I tried and have no results. I think it's a bug in phone localization. Can I report it somewhere?
