Bought my daughter an Xperia X, loved it until doing an update which wiped the signal and GPS, absolutely useless. Sent it to Sony wrapped in bubble wrap etc so really safe. Stated the issue and after googling it found this is a known issue worldwide.
Sony replied, camera lens broken and not covered so Beyond economical repair so we will scrap it unless I send money for it to be returned.
This camera worked perfectly prior to sending as my daughter used it on social media not 5 mins before posting it. I have now had 3 further messages asking for postage to be paid yet whenever I state to repair the issue it was actually sent in for they ignore me. I want the issue sorted and I will have the phone inspected once it's returned. Sony reply service is terrible and this is clearly a way to avoid fixing this phone. I am a police officer, I have an unblemished record and am a loyal Sony customer, this is so wrong. Not only are they ignoring the in guarantee part but I will happily enter a court along with witnesses to prove my case. Please someone at Sony get this customer service side sorted asap

could you give some details about the service center you are referring to? like location . can you ask for clarification if it was indeed your device that they were refering to? try to ask them for a picture of the damage,. or contact the courier that you have your device sent to.
