I setup my device to ask for a fingerprint after it's locked down. Usually that works just fine but sometimes (about 1 out of 10 times) it "randomly" asks my for my pattern? Why is this? It is incredibly annoying because I wish to avoid all the unlocking techniques but the fingerpint and still keep my data safe. Is it just my device and is there a way to get rid of it?
Thanks for your reply. But what I meant was that it sometimes asks for my pin directly after trying to unlock it for the first time trying but not directly after booting up the device. If the sensor can't read my fingerprint it will shake the overlay a little bit towards the left of the screen. But sometimes it just directly asks for my pin.
I'm not using a 3rd party lockscreen.
P.S. I'm running Android 7.0.
Hi @Kledder,
I have requested more information about why your phone will sometimes ask for your backup method of unlocking your phone, even when it hasn't been restarted. I will let you know when I know more.
Hi. We have the same problem. May i know if you already resolve this issue? Can you tell me how?
Hi again, sorry for the late reply.
You have to use your backup screen unlock option (PIN, password or pattern) in these situations:
That information is not correct. Today the same thing happend again.
I can confirm that this happens regularly on my X Compact as well.
