i just got the 7.1.1. update. now, when making a phone call, the "do not disturb" sign appears as long is i am in the call. when i close the call, the icon disappears, although i didnt turn the function "do not disturb" on.....
is this normal now?
Hi @Georgge,
I have requested more information about this and will let you know as I get an answer.
This is an enhancement in Android 7.1 Nougat (Not an Xperia feature). When on a call, the system notifications automatically enter into Do Not Disturb mode so you won’t get alerts from emails, texts, etc.,.
I have now received some more information regarding this and it is as @sunworks said, this is a intentional change and Do not disturb mode will automatically activate during calls. If you do not want the Do not disturb function active during calls you can disable it from the quick settings menu.
Hi,
I have the same issue. It appears to be part of the Android 7.1 update & there doesnt appear to be a way to turn it off.
Its a pity as a lot of people would still like to get other notifications during their calls
Hi Sony Support,
Surely one should not have to go into the quic ksettings menu & manually turn this off everytime one is on a call. Could Sony please feed this back to Google that for their next update that theres a feature to switch this funtion off?
Kind Regards
Thanks
I have found a possible workaround for this on an android forum:
Press and hold the Do Not Disturb button. Choose Automatic Rules and customise the Do not Disturb feature
You can change what the Do Not Disturb turns off (e.g. Texts, calls etc) so as to switch them back on so essentially Do Not Disturb does not work anymore & you get all your notifications when your on a call
