Sony video "full screen"

Hi I've come across a solution/tip, too be able to watch full screen videos.

First disable the video/movies apps then just watch videos through gallery n that's it... Full screen movie.

I've not got a clue as to why Sony wouldn't allow full screen video though it's video app, it should be standard by now.

AND SONY PLEASE SORT OUT THE ALBUM.... LOADING PICTURES IS A NIGHTMARE no matter where pics are saved SD/INTERNAL both load slow. 

Using the Xperia X compact on android 7.1.1 version. .228

what happen if you play the videos through the video app and tap on the video ?

I suppose It brings up options to either fast forward, pause, play, rewind then options in top right corner share,  audio, display, settings but no option to make it full screen. 

Some videos that don't play full screen on the video app but do play  full screen using album.
