thanks for answering.... i did the test again today . this time for much longer time ( 35 minutes) in deep water (40 cm) now i'm 200 % sure it's waterproof ... everything works fine till now and phone acts normall ... it's hard to believe that x compact isn't waterproof ....because last years compact phone z1c , z3c and z5c all of them were waterproof ..it's secretly waterproof
@SOUNI1 Same was said on X:

I don't think that if it passed a water contact test once you should call it waterproof. As long as Sony doesn't advertise it as so, don't risk it.
Hi @SOUNI1,
Welcome to the community,
Unfortunately, the Xperia X Compact is not water resistant or water proof, I suggest not performing such a test on the device as you may damage it.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
@SOUNI1: if I am not mistaken, there is a liquid exposure indicator inside the sim tray part. it is a small white strip. if it turns red your warranty is void.
if the water doesn't immediately cause some problems, then in the long run it might cause the exposed metal parts of the device to rust and corrode.

I don't think that's a secret but you did a very useful thing. Some models are waterproof but they had problems after they were sinked in water this one is not certified as waterproof but it resists to water. I guess Sony just wanted not to risk any other complaints about this issue. Good to know though.
Hmmmm, headset and USB connectors are not plugged in any way. Microhpone and speaker apertures are not sealed off as far as I can tell. I hope your phone still works after a few months.
I'd rather not perform such a test. Mine is in a protective cover and that's where I like it to be.
As far as I can tell, the X Compact is designed to be waterproof, but isn't tested or marketed as waterproof in the UK or anywhere else except Japan.
I think that's for two reasons, mostly because Sony got stung for a lot of warranty repairs (or at least the cost of refuting them) on previous models where customers were doing crazy things with them underwater or without checking flaps were closed, seals intact etc. What sounded like a marketing dream (and Sony sold, with videos of Z3s being unboxed underwater) turned into an aftermarket nightmare.
In Japan I understand that when a phone is sold as waterproof the customers realise that doesn't mean they can go high diving with them. I've also read that waterproof rating is almost a necessity for phones there, but it doesn't come with the warranty liability that the rest of the globe brings. Or maybe they just price it a bit higher there to compensate. Or take the hit for that market. That's one for the money men to work out.
Anyway, as it's waterproof in Japan there's no reason it's not anywhere else, but if you water damage it then Sony aren't liable.
I just want a phone that doesn't croak when used in a bit of drizzle, or die if it's in a pocket that gets splashed. Something that copes with everyday life, not taking sub aqua videos! And for that, I think the ☓ Compact is up to the task.
At your own risk though!
(So a bit of insurance elsewhere isn't a bad idea in case the worst happens.)
Mind if I ask what kind of protective case you have for it? I can't really find much in the way of a decent case for the X Compact.
Thanks,
