Xperia x compact 7.1.1 update problems - solution for some improvement

I have had big issues after this update. 

I just did a simple boot into safe mode, followed by power off and then power on and I've lost most of the hanging. I also get back access to the keyboard. 

Still trying to assess if temperature and battery use improves

try holding volume up + power, until the device vibrates 3 times and turns off, in the mean time, and clear google play services and play store caches
