Xperia X screen leaving faint white screen burn?

Hi there and good day to all.

The past few weeks I have noticed that after using apps for some time if I return to the home screen I can see certain images/icons burnt in the screen (slightly faded white). Say for example, I've been playing a game called Operation: New Earth and a lot of the UI buttons are white and are always displayed, after some time playing when I go to my home screen I can see all of these icons burnt into the screen, slightly faded and it's very strange indeed, it also does this with Gboard and my notification tray icons...

Can someone help me or give me some useful information? I am considering contacting support as I have 2 other problems regarding fast charging not working and the charging port not holding in the official Sony USB cable.

Hi @LevsMAN, I am sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. Slightly_frowning_Face

I agree that it would be best to get in touch with your Local support so that they may assist you in having the device sent to an authorized service center. They are well informed in regards to local service routines, warranty terms and consumer laws. When it comes to hardware related behaviour, I am sorry to say that there is not much else I can offer as far as advice goes. Slightly_frowning_Face

hi contact customer service immediately. I have had this problem with Z3 and now with X. The screen burns because of overheating, inadequate heating protection etc. Don't leave it like that, in my case they replaced the screen twice and then they were forced to replace it...So good luck

Hi @dekadance, that does not sound fun at all, sorry to hear about your past experiences. Slightly_frowning_Face Does the replacement work according to our specifications?

Hi mate, sorry to hear your bad experience(s)!

My device is still in warranty for another 6-7 months, but I'm worried if I send to Sony they will request certain charges etc? But I am definitely going to do so, that's for sure!

Just got the XA1 Ultra so this gives me a good time to send off my old device, I have looked after it very, very well too.

As I mentioned in my previous post, it is very difficult for me to answer questions regarding your local market since I am based in Sweden and work Globally. This is because service routines, warranty terms and consumer laws vary on a market-to-market basis, for this reason I recommend raising any concerns directly with your Local support. hi,

To get into specifics the replacement was for my Xperia Z3. They got it replacet with a new phone and that one works fine actually.

Now I have issues with my Xperia X which I will send for a repair - screen burn, overheating, poor wi-fi and bluetooth reception, poor battery.  I highly doubt that they will fix all these issues . Due to my engineer experience I incline to believe that there are some factory issues with the wi-fi/bluetooth chip. The audio quality could have been better too. Looks like they've decided against paying the additional licence to Qualcomm for the dedicated built in DAC. I really lost my patience with it...I just bough another phone and once the Xperia X comes from repair I will sell it. This has been a dissapointing experience overall. But thank you for your intervention. I am happy overall with Sony technical support
