Hi there. I have a Xperia X Dual and recently see a spot on the screen that is brighter than the the rest of the screen. Now I am wondering what to do. Did any of you have a similar problem with the display? Can this be fixed? I also wonder how to get support for this Model. I live in DE but the phone model seems to be international. At least I can't find it anywhere on the German support site. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Finally the seller reacted and agreed that I should return the phone. Hope this will be solved now. Thanks for your replies. I learned my lesson. Next phone i will make sure it is the EU Version before buying. Have a great new year.
You have to contact Sony directly to get it inspected >>> Local support. with that said, if you bought the phone from a different region/market it might not have warranty in your country, again, only your Local support can assist you with that.
Hi
To get more information about the issue with your screen you can do 2 things
- use the support app, click on the middle button on the bottom of the screen and run the screen tests
- make a "phone call" to *#*#service#*#*
which translates to *#*#7378423#*#* and goto service tests.
You might've even try to make screenshots (which doesn't work when the are real screen problems)
Then contact support to explain them what's wrong.
Do I get this right. If you take a phone from one EU country to another, you lose your warranty with sony? What a mess... I'm not sure if that's even legal.
@ryan42
Again:
First investigate, then make your conclusions.
- goto support app
- on the bottom tick on device info
- 3rd line states your warranty
- if no warranty indicated, goto main, bottom line, contact us.
Ok thanks.
The info in the phone is, warranty till 07.11.2019. But the DE support tells me to reach out to my seller, as the F5122 is not available in Germany. Let's see if the seller can fix it.
Where does your device come from originally
Malaysia? China? India?
Or really original EU.
I bought it from a UK online shop. Turns out, it is from Hong Kong. I wasn't aware of that. Now it obviously has no warranty here in Europe. I hope i can get my money back via PayPal. Thanks again for your help. Happy holidays.
From my understanding, Hong Kong never even got the vanilla Xperia X, only the single sim X Performance.
The dual Sim X with 64gb X is likely an Indian variety.
Not sure if its really worth sending a phone over there for warranty purposes through.
