i had my xperia 1 shipped friday i received it yesterday i had some time to play around with it these are my main complaints
1.touch issues it seems it randomely decides you need to press really hard or again for a touch to be registered
2.random dimming when you maximize an app it goes bright, when you press the recent apps button it goes darker and dims
3.sound quality is crisp but not very loud and dynamic vibration is abit of a dissapointment to me
4.camera quality is good but lowlight performance could be better i expected more
5.the aspect ratio is an aquired taste that unfortunately is almost a dealbreaker for me it looks visually odd to have such a tall phone
6.as mentioned in an earlier thread the screen isn't as vibrant as i'd want i honestly prefer the screen of my xperia xz1, i feel it's because the xperia 1 lacks super vivid mode which i got dependent on
7.battery life is pretty dissappointing i get 4-5 hours or so screen on time with max brightness and a live wallpaper but i would have prefered 8-10
8.the phone comes with fortnite preinstalled and other games you can't remove you can only deactivate them, to make fortnite bloatware is too extreme to me
9.the camera app is unstable and it crashes a little here and there
10.the cinema pro app is difficult to use to change filter you have to create a new project you can't just change filter back and forth the rec button is not pressable when you are changing filters you have to confirm the filter and then press the record button you also can't fill the screen you just get a tiny little box for it the filters would be great with the camera app for stills too, you can take stills with cinema pro but they end up blurry because you can't focus as easily as the camera app
11.the fingeprintscanner feels worse than my xz1 with my xz1 i simply had to rest my finger there and it would unlock instantly no issues with the xperia 1 it seems it only accepts if you use your lower finger it refuses to register part of the tip as a fingerprint even when i try to add it, it just won't let me so it feels as messy as the xperia z5 to me
what i love
1.crisp and clear sound much more so than my xperia xz1
2.one of the most beautiful phones i've seen minus the tall aspect ratio and curved back and uneven bezel thickness and curved screen corners the flat screen makes this the only new phone i can get
3.oled and black level which makes the entire phone just beautiful i waited a long time for a sony phone with oled if the xz1 had oled and thin bezels i don't think i'd ever get rid of it because that is by far the most beautiful sony phone unfortunately the microphone randomely stopped working and the screen got a scratch during a trip so did the back so thats why i decided to upgrade.
Is there really no Qi Wireless Charging implemented?
I still have hopes that Sony somehow only forgot to advertise this feature but it's included nonetheless. Can you try if the X1 can be charged with a wireless charging pad, please?
Instead of complaining here on the forums, have you tried going to the store and have them check it out? some of them sound like real issues and you can send your phone in for warranty.
Im guessing youre the guy on youtube that posted a very poor video review of the phone.

Tries it, it does nothing.
However... The one I bought has a USB PD charger in the box and did indeed charge at a redicilously fast rate.
Omg yes, when I saw there was an 18W charger in the box I couldn't believe Sony finally gave us a nice charger.
I didn't expect it to be this fast, but omg, who cares about Qi charging, this thing is pushing power into it, it needs 45mins to charge. I'll time it properly tonight...
I try to keep my battery between 30 and 80%, so I'll only be charging it in 15 minute intervals probably twice a day... Really impressive!
I got my phone yesterday and took it to a live gig right after and tested camera.
Yes it needs fine tuning. camera app crashes especially in video mode. here a few pics I shot with 2x digital zoom. ( I don't know why forum rotated them btw )
The included PD charger is indeed ridiculously fast
I just can't get used to the way you access the app drawer. Which is swiping up, instead of an actual icon to access your apps.
I'll get used to it I guess. But apart from that, its an upgrade from my XZ Premium, love the screen!

It is quite impressive, I put it on charge and came back around half an hour later and it was at 98%
I did put it on charge at around 25% so not full charge in that time but still,,... Woah!
