Solved! Go to Solution.
Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
Hi there,
My problem is that my xperia J won't turn on... I've tried everything: Turn it on with all buttons pressed, update softwere... Nothing... It has battery and when I plugg it to the charger the little green light appears at the top. I need help because this phone has been nothing but trouble... I've had it repaired once, I also did a factory reset this summer and this phone it's not even a year old yet. I appreciate someone's help.
Thank you.
You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).
If this does not help, you must stop by a sony service.
Charge your phone for 30-40min > then repair it with PCC
