My phone froze so I had to restart it, but it turned itself off instead and now it won't turn back on, anyone know why? or what i can do?
I am reaching very close to dumping my new x10 minipro. I have been experiencing a lot of dissonance since I got this phone and after reading the entries on this forum, I'm not too sure I made a good purchase. Needless to say I also experience ridiculously long boot up time. And hey people, it's not the sim, it's not the operator, IT'S THE PHONE! This is an S-E managed website, why can't they realise the problems we are experiencing and offer some solutions? Are their profit margins too big to listen to their customers? Hey SE, that can change overnight! Just look at Hummer, Blockbuster and Newsweek!!
None off this works for me Someone has a clue? Might go DETAILED for me? Pls (a) Thx
my wife is on her second x10 from O2 in UK. Her third handset should be delivered today which I have every confidence will also be faulty so we will probably be reporting it as such next week and requesting a HTC Desire (same as mine) as a replacement.
You all need to keep pushing back to your supplier until SE finally realise they will lose market share over this issue. Happy hunting
Not expecting any useful answers from SE here...but I have a similar problem. My x10 mini pro stopped working AFTER upgrading to 2.1.
I have tried pretty much everything - After the upgrade the phone will buzz and the screen will lite up. But it won't turn on properly. Just a blank, black screen.
Tried to re-install firmware with the SE companion and also from the support site. I only bought the phone today and am already pretty annoyed...
I have tried to re-connect and do the back-button-thing and tried to turn it on with the SIM Card and without the SIM Card (I don't think the SIM Card is the problem - it
must be the update). They say that it might take a while until the phone will turn back on - but I can't imagine that it can take longer than 5 minutes. Some guy on here stated
it took 1 hour??? I will leave it for now and wait until tomorrow morning. Otherwise I'll take it back...Unless anyone else on here can help me...
As I stated before, don't know if what worked for me could work for anyone, but as it's a "start from the very begining" procedure should work almost for every body.
You have to notice that PC Companion and SE Updtate Service should be uninstalled from your PC.
I can say that the problem is with some SIM Card technologies, as I tried other COMCEL SIM Cards (different capacity in kb, and different contact pins distribution) and they worked fine. Also tried other SIM Card from Tigo and Movistar and they worked OK. The guy who sold me the phone, recomended to change the SIM Card, but at the end (until now at least), it wasn´t necessary.
The base problem is, on my understanding, ah the SE firmware for X10 Mini. Some situacions regarding the contacts list, or the messages stored in the SIM Card is making the phone to fall in a never ending o "to much long in time" loop boot process.
Regards,
OK, so this is Guillermo Reporting from Argentina, I got a brand new X10 mini through my telephone company, and as many of you had the same PROBLEM, the unit would not turn on while the SIM card is in, tried calling the service center for Latin America who stated no issues had been reported regarding this, which turned out to be a LIE!!! since their own website has multiple posts of consumers from all over the globe reporting the very same issue, tried everything you guys suggested but it would not work for mine, so tell you what, I wont sit back waiting for them to try to solve an issue that a company as SE should had fixed a long time ago, and even worst, issue that is denied by the company, I WILL REPLACE THIS PIECE OF GIANT USELESS JUNK AND GET A REAL PHONE THAT AT LEAST LET YOU USE THE MAIN FUNCTION AND THAT CAN STAY ON FOR OVER 5 HOURS, AND ALSO WILL LET EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO BUY SONY JUNK ANYMORE, NOT JUST FOR THE DEFECT ITSELF, but FOR THEIR LACK OF SUPPORT AND LIES TO THEIR OWN CONSUMERS.
I feel for you Guillermo. Lucky mine broke after 1DAY so i could return it ASAP and get refunded. I too shall relay the message for people to stop buying this junk.
Have the same problem as sumane, read all possible solutions. Tried them all, None worked.
The worst part is that I had a similar problem with my se k800i. So I`m more than frustrated... Specially angry with myself for trusting se again
Please give a solution. I`m still paying for a phone i cannot use.
The thing is.... you inevitable have to pay for another phone if the guarantee has expirated as hapens in my case (have the phone for 4 months now). Personal y la re concha tuya!!! Lo mismo para vos sony ericsson!!!
I am so frustrated right now... cant believe this is the second time it happens and i cannot manage to get it to work!! give me my money and time lost back!!!
