Unable to connect xperia u to pc

hello all,

i bought xpria u yesterday & was happy with it until yesterday. Today i wanted to plug my phone to my pc (win-xp sp3). I connected the phone to cpu by the usb cable (the same cable which is used for charging by adaptor). I got message that my hardware was not installed completely. Then I downloaded pc companion from internet & tried everything i could but the pc companion couldnt even detect my phone. I followed everything mentioned in this post. but unsucessfull. i also tried repairing by PCC. When followed the step in which i press lower volume button + insert usb i got a green light in the transparent band. Then my pc started installing drivers again but still got some error, though this time it could recognise the name 'ST25i'. In device manager i can see SEMC HSUSB Device (has a yello exclamation) under Portable Devices. Can anybody help me?:smileysad:

Why you did this to me Sony? I have been your loyal consumer, but now it seems you have started compromising quality & costomer satisfaction! Certainly I will NEVER buy my next smartphone from U.

Hi,

I was having a similar issue, but once I formatted my internal memory, the computer and both sony companion recognized my device. Sometimes, it delays to load the device. Then, here's something I do which works marvellously! Click and hold the lower volume key (the below one of volume keys) while and after connecting the USB port. Hope it helps you...

i downloaded the file , stilmy computer fails to recognise my device , i use xp sp3. please help me out with this

dude can u like tell wht ol stepsu did u did for ur fone to gt cnnctd to xp sp3 , evn my fone is nt gtn cnnctd , i tried evrythng whtsbein tld in ths forum , stl can u like brief it out ?

first of all, do u have the same problems as i mentioned above? like going into the device manager & getting that yellow exclamation?

if yes, then run the exe  which you downloaded. i hope you have backed up everything before this step!

now restart your computer & connect the phone thru usb.

i think pc will still be unable to detect your phone. then go to device manager. right click on the semc hsusb option (the one with yellow exclamation) -> update driver -> advanced -> then browse till the folder "x86" as shown in the 1st image above. click next. now all the necessary files are available & the drivers will be installed.

by "formatted my internal memory" do you mean factory reset?

checkout my reply to smoky.jr if you couldnt do the necessary.

the thing is....problem's not with the computer...and by formatting, i just mean formatting internal memory from settings>storage>clear internal memory....so now only things stored on internal memory will be lost....not phone memory (like in factory reset it wud be)....if you follow this step, your fone will be recognized in every computer u further try....if it doesn't work, try pressing and holding the decrease volume key while and after inserting the USB cable...

i installd .exe file , n tht had some error . i dont get the portable device iption itself in device manager n..so basically i get an automatic mtp device wizard
