USB Devices disabled error!

Hi,

It's been a week already. I am not able to recognize my xperia p in PC, cannnot charge without shutting down the phone, unable to restore/update via any modes(volume up/down).

Whenever I connect the Sony charger, it says 'USB devices disabled error, consuming more power than expected'. It won't charge. When I shut down the phone, it starts charging and charging icon is displayed. If I switch on the phone while charging, sometimes it stops charging, and sometimes it continues charging!

I tried all possible ways, SUS, PC Companion, emma tool. Phone just doesnt get recognized PC.

I live in India, been to sony ericsson service centers before, they are not so reliable. they fix some problem and introduce some other.

So, I am hoping for DIY solution. I think, somehow if I am able to reset the software through PC through PC companion or SUS it'll be okay. But I am not able to do that since phone is not getting recognized by PC in any mode.

I tried reset factory settings in my phone, but no help. Problem still remains.

Couple of times I tried draining down the battery completely, and then charging but still no luck.

Please advise

I purchased this phone in Shanghai and its in warranty. Apparently, I can't service this in India even after paying money. They just won't touch it. Can anyone tell me service centers in Shanghai? English speaking?

Hello

Even I faced the same problem and the phone charges only when shut down.

My phone started working normaly, when I wnet to Settings -> Xperia -> USB Connectivity and selected Inastall PC companion.

After this my PC recongnized my phone and started charging.

Strange !!!

But worked.

You can try

It can also be caused due to the dislocation of pin in your phone. Try repairing that. If problem persists, sent a reply.
