Hi - All, am new here, so please bear with me....I have touched my Sony TV remote inadvertently ( as I only use the Sky remote) and my TV is now showing a "P100...Searching...." banner on top of screen in yellow....NO idea what button was pressed to produce this and I can't remove it...any suggestions please as don't want to press buttons willy nilly?
Hello @Contrary,
would you please take a picture of your TV screen (with your camera or phone) and upload it in a response.
That would make it easier to identify what the banner might be.
Let's hope that @LightFoot or @dutchice check by here, they can probably assist.

Hi @Contrary
Would you please let us know the model number of your TV. It will start with KD. You could try pressing the [Back] button to see if it clears it.
Hi @Contrary,
Welcome to the Sony Online Community! The button you accidentally have pressed is called the Teletext button. Teletext is an information service provided through broadcast channels. If your TV is connected to a CABLE/ANTENNA source you will be able to access teletext pages. Generally the information found on teletext pages is sorted in sections (eg. news, sports, weather, etc.) which are accessible through their responding page numbers (001-999).
P100 refers to Page 100. But since your TV remains in Searching mode, I think you are not making use of a CABLE/ANTENNA connection on your TV.
The button to turn on and off teletext pages is marked in the picture above. Pressing the button once will bring on the teletext pages on a black background, second press will remove the black background to keep the background programme visible while you read teletext pages. A third press of the button will remove the teletext pages from the screen.
Cheers,
Dutchice
