Adaptor Vaio VGN-Z5566

Hello anyone

Hope you can help me - I live in Ireland, heading to the USA for conference and need to know what kind of adaptor I need. I thought I needed something to step-up given the voltage difference between Ireland and US but my local shop says not, that I can buy a standard Ireland/US adaptor and the VAIO plug will handle the rest.

Do I need a converter too and, if so, where do you get them?

Any advice - I am in two minds and cannot afford to damage my much loved Vaio.

Hi Sonea13,

Your local shop is correct, you only need the plug adaptor. The Sony power adaptor will function with an AC input from 100 to 240 Volt - if you look on the back of the adaptor you should find this information.

Thank you so much! The guy at the shop mentioned to 'look on the back'. So I looked on the back of the computer and couldn't find anything, hence this posting. Now I have looked on the back of the adaptor and I see it!

My learning for the day ... i t is SO obvious now that I am looking in the right place (oops).
