So I have problems with my Compact X.
I was side-graded from the Z5 due to an insurance claim...yes the phone wasn't waterproof as advertised when I purchased it or with 3-4 caveats after the claim.
Anyway, wind forwards to my Compact X and it's a fairly weak phone by the looks of it.
The camera writing of video is highly unstable, (even after factory reset and a new SD card)
Also, simply trying to listen to music (amazon app) means that the music jumps intermittantly.
Music cached or saved to the sd card seems to jump as the app tries to think pretty hard about reading and decoding the music.
This was not a problem on the previous sony compacts (Z1 and then Z5). Is the same with two different SD cards (class 10) and after a factory reset..
Are there any decent solutions without using up the onboard memory? which also seems some of the same issues but less frequently.
@DizMatt I own a X Compact and I loved althoguh I can confirm about issues with the video recording especially if you are trying to save videos in the SD card.
About stuttering of music: does it happen also when streaming or is it an issue that occur only if the music is being played from the SD card?
Can you try few things for me?
Turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, turn back on the phone and try to listen music again, does it stutter? If no, then the issue is related to your SIM card.. yes, you don't know how a SIM card can affect performance!
Another test is.. restart your phone in safe mode, play music again.. is it stuttering? If no the issue is a software installed in your phone trying to access excessively the SD card.
About video recording.. I can only advise you to use the video mode storing directly into the internal storage rather than SD card... once in a while then move your contents from internal to SD card.
I think it's an issue related to some drivers, hopefully Android O will fix this issue.
