Hi all,
The NFC chip doesn't seem to work on this phone. It's activated (under settings --> more...) alongside the Android beam function. The NFC icon is where it should be.
I downloaded a few tester apps and they all say the NFC chip is present and enabled. However, it doesn't do anything. Whether I lay the phone over a tag or another phone with nfc, nothing happens.
I tried with and without a case.
I have a tylt car cradle, it has an embedded nfc tag to trigger functions. It works flawlessly with an old Nexus 4 (even with a pretty thick case, by the way) but it doesn't do anything with the X compact. I tried rebooting, safe mode, factory reset and repair. Nothing.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test NFC > report the results back
There's no test for NFC in diagnostics... under Wireless I only have WiFi, bluetooth and GPS.
I stand corrected.
Use the Service Menu instead

Open the Dialer and press this

Thanks.
Unfortunately, still no luck.
These are the results:
I try to place the phone close to a tag, but nothing happens.
I've already tried repair with Xperia Companion. I've just restored the phone, nothing changed.
Thanks I'll keep you posted
I would also suggest that - my NFC experiance (Cus UK@7.0) is 100% with both my bus card (app) and Sony headset (bluetooth pairing).
Maybe try the 7.1.1 update first..
