Qnovo adaptive charging

Hello.

I'm loving my new Xperia X compact. The compact size paired with ample on board storage, SD card capability and 3Gb of RAM mean it's perfect for my needs. However, I am bemused by the Qnovo adaptive charging.

I've had the phone for over a week and apart from the initial charge and an hour where it got a bit of a charge from my PC's USB port, I have regularly charged the phone overnight from about midnight until 7.45am. I know that it's at 100% by about 2am having looked at the graph visible in settings.

This morning I woke at about 6am. The battery was already at 100% and once again appeared to have been since about 2am. I was expecting to see about a 90% charge at that time if the adaptive charging was taken place.

So, has anybody had the adaptive charging kick in yet? How long does it take? Is there any way to force it into action? I'm terrified that my battery will be ruined if I'm giving it 6 hours of unnecessary nightly charging after reading Sony's warnings in its adverts about the adaptive charging system.

I'm not keen to set my alarm to 2am to unplug my phone to save the battery!

Thanks for your help,

Kroma

Glad you are enjoying your new Xperia X compact.

You dont have to worry about leaving your device charging overnight (although not recommended) ,, as the device is smart enough to cut off power when the battery is fully charged.

It hasn't been mentioned how long the device will learn your charging habits , but it will in due time,. it might need a few more regular charging schedule.

you can learn more about this tech here: http://qnovo.com/

I've had the phone almost four weeks now and there's still no sign of Adaptive Chaging kicking in.  I regularly charge from about 11.45pm until 7.45am (except for Fridays when I unplug at about 7.10am).

From other threads I see that a message will pop up when I start to charge if adaptive charging is working.  I've had no message and my phone is still getting to 100% at around 2am.

If only there was a manual option where we plugged the phone in and TOLD it when we expected to unplug it!

Has anybody else had to wait this long for it to start?  Is there anything I should check that might be preventing it from working?

Thanks,

Kroma

I've had Battery Care kicked in on 2nd or 3rd charge and popped up several times after that. But last 5-6 charges it disappeared, although I charge the phone almost at same time every second day.

Hello!

Just one question: Am I the only one, who worries about, why that adaptive charging is not connected to the alarm clock?

Another possibility would be, that there was an option to set the 100% load manual.

Otherwise, people like me, who stand up at different times almost every day would not be able to use qnovo...
