Incoming call - no alert (no sound) - only vibrate works

Incoming call: no alert  - After upgrade to Kernel 3.0.08+  build 6.1.1.B.1.54 incoming calls don't give any sound. I can manage to get the 'Vibrte on Ring' working but no alert sound ! Hence I miss many incoming calls. Silent mode = 'Off' Please help.

If I select a different ringtone using Sound Picker - the 'music' doesn't play neither.

Please help

My phone is not rooted.

I did already a factory reset but nothing.

So I will try your software suggestion. Wondering why SONY can't come up with a software.

Hi Rubin,

I unzipped it on my PC.

Now there are so many directories and files I don't kow what to do and where to place them on my Xperia P.

Please explain.

Thanks in advance

Ok, take the unziped folders and put them in the Download folder at your phone. You can do that by connecting your phone with the pc and open the folders. Just paste the folders in the Download folder of your phone than disconect phone from computer. With your phone, open a software named "ASTRO File Manager" -> sdcard -> downloads - (open the folder system which you pasted there) -> app -> install what's in there.

Before installing that, make sure you clear data and cache and force stop from settings -> apps -> all -> phone

ok, try this:

You don't need to unzip this one. Just put it in your phone and install normally.

This is the file I used, and it worked.

Hi Rubin, I used both by sending over the saved /downloaded file from my PC to Xperia and I downloaded it directly onto my Xperia - but in both cases the installation didn't succeeded - neither with "package Installer" or Verify and Install (Google in green): same result: "Application didn't install"

You must be doing something wrong. I mean, I use xperia p too, and it installed well for me. Also, other people installed the apk without a problem.
Are you completely sure you are installing the last apk I shared? Maybe you are installing the same apk you downloaded from xda.

OK I removed all PhoneContacts.apk and just copied the last one back - then it installed.

I have now a 'white' contact' list application.

Still when I call my phone from my landline I still don't have a ringtone

No ringtone from the loudspeaker.

I'm really sorry to hear about that. It seems like your phone has a hardware Issue. Well, all I can suggest you is a repair with sus if you haven't tried it ( make sure you back up everything), and if that doesn't work, all it's left is to send it to a sony center.

Hi Rubin, The loss of ringing on incoming call happened after the last upgrade - software upgrade.

Unlikely this is a hardware problem.

Moreover when I call then I hear the caller speaking without the headset.

I tried SUS / PC Companion already twice

It is just a bad product - unsupported by SONY
