X compact is Waterproof

I used my X compact under water right now i can confirm it's 100% waterproof... I test my phone under fresh water everything works fine... however Sony didn't claim X compact is waterproof for some reason.. Thanks SONY

My understanding is that the model sold in Japan is the SO-02J.

Interestingly in the features section, there are "Japanese only" ones and waterproof isn't one of them.

I find it funny that we have Sony reps in here saying "it's absolutely not waterproof" when there is a fair bit of evidence that it is.

I think the consensus is that Sony Reps avoid saying that the X Compact is waterproof because, if they did, Sony could potentially be liable for devices that suffer water damage.

I know I've rinsed mine under the tap more than once without any ill concequences, but I still haven't taken it into the pool.
